Our Story

Neeps & Tatties Greengrocers was started by husband and wife, David & Loo Morton, in 2013. We noticed a gap in the market (place)! and started a small shop in Richmond. We developed the business to the point of needing more floor space and so we moved to a prominent position in the Market place, next door to Co-op, in 2019.

We have a young family & Whippet, Gino (who you may meet in the shop) so fully understand the importance of healthy eating & feeding a family!

Over the last 10 years, we have expanded to a small team of five, enabling us to run the shop & box delivery services.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the box delivery service was popular and many customers have continued with weekly deliveries, the box offers convenience, reliability & freshness/quality of produce.

We are conscious of our carbon footprint and currently run delivery routes twice a week in the local area (DL9, 10, 11).

We also recycle most of our packaging and any food waste that we have is sent for animal feed = minimal waste overall.

We understand that quality and affordability is important, we believe we can meet your expectation for both

Wensleydale Pumpkins

Wensleydale Pumpkins supply a range of Pumpkins, Squash & Gourds, starting seasonally around September each year. Another family business, James & Lindsay developed their project during COVID-19 pandemic when James’ Design & Engineering business was quiet as James was unable to travel to clients to showcase his agricultural equipment. He planted a crop of pumpkins at his farm so he could create videos of his equipment in action and was blessed with a huge crop of pumpkins! We took the pumpkins to sell for him and the popularity of locally grown pumpkins has sky rocketed, meaning Lindsay and their two girls have to get into the patch too!

Yorkshire Farmhouse/ James Potter Eggs

Thirsk based business, Yorkshire Farmhouse Eggs/James Potter, are a new supplier to Neeps & Tatties Greengrocers since the loss of the retail side of the Wensleydale Eggs business. Free Range, Hen Welfare and High Quality Eggs are the priorities for the team, which initially started with Susan Potter and her husband, Roger, having 200 hens in 1970. James Potter Eggs are RSPCA freedom food assured and Lion Quality Standard (BEIC).
